Still Getting Used to It

7 Jan

I’m still getting used to this version of WordPress, and having issues with it. Now I’m considering getting my own WordPress hosted somewhere. Anyway, let me tell you a little story. Did you ever read the book Freckle Juice? Toad’s class just finished reading it. Part of their optional homework was to create their own version of Freckle Juice. And Toad desperately wanted to! Here’s what we got:

What is it, you may ask? A disgusting combination of things, including Sprite, Apple Juice, some drops of lemon juice, pepperoni, cheese, and, of course, whipped cream. Because everything tastes better with whipped cream – or so Scott says.

After a thorough mixing, and topping with whipped cream, comes the taste test. And who does Toad get to taste it?! His sister, of course!

To be fair, he only made her try the whipped cream. He chickened out at trying the concoction himself, though, even though we badgered him to! But how cool was that for homework?!

Last night, after Scott and I had finished work and right before we snuggled for a bit on the couch (because I’m hell on snuggling when I have my period), we saw a sight that had never been seen before, and likely something that will never be seen again.

Duchess, and Holly, laying right next to each other without either cat fighting or growling. Wow.

We’ve been working on stopping Holly from bullying Duchess, by putting her down the same way we do the dogs. Apparently it’s worked! Or is working. Not only have we had no more kitty accidents in the house, we’ve also seen far less fighting! And then this miracle clenched it for me – the method is working. How cool is that?!
